Specialist events agency Realise is starting a new cohort of event apprentices in September 2021, after an 18 month gap.

The new cohort will unite new candidates from leading event organisers, global luxury brands, venues and event agencies on an 18 month journey of involving hands-on work experience supplemented by intensive learning and development.

Realise CEO David Preston said, “we’re delighted that, after the chaos inflicted on the industry by the global pandemic, the industry is now in a position to start taking on new talent.”

All the apprentices will be working in a role that gives them the opportunity to be involved in events for their organisation. The learning element is a combination of combination of workshops (remote and face to face), coaching calls, guided activities, a portfolio of evidence and a final project and interview, running over a 15-18 month period.

David Preston added, “of the 70+ apprentices we’ve had on our programme to date, all of them have passed, and 70% achieve the top grades of Merit or Distinction. And it’s great to see that, within our new cohort, more than 80% of apprentices are employed by companies who’ve already had an apprentice, so clearly, they know it works.”

Realise C.O.O. Richard John added, ‘there’s never been a better time to take on an events apprentice. The government is currently offering £3000 grants for each new apprentice, even if it’s someone already working in the organisation. Research shows that apprentices tend to be far more loyal to their employer. And, as the government is effectively paying for all the training and development, taking on an apprentice makes great financial sense.’
