Find Venues & Event Suppliers Open For Business Now!

Looking to organise a COVID-Safe event, but struggling to find which venues and suppliers are actually open to take bookings now? Never fear, Event Birdie is here!

Yet again, we’re here to make planning events a whole lot easier for you. We’ve recently updated our venue and supplier directory with some neat features to help you connect with the businesses that are COVID-safe and ready to take bookings.

Here’s what’s new on the Event Birdie directory….

1. We’ve added a “Business Status” to our listings, so that you can easily see who is:

  • Open for Business Now
  • Taking Future Bookings
  • Temporarily Closed (eek! Don’t worry they’ll be back!)

If a venue has noted they are Open For Business Now a stamp will appear on their listing in the search results like this:

You’ll also be able to see the business status clearly at the top of their directory listing:

2. Finding a COVID-Safe Venue is now much easier!

We’ve added a new filter to the Venue Features section so that venues can indicate if they have a COVID-Safe plan in place. If they are open and operating, we can assume they do, but we’re making it even easier for you to find the venues that are actively getting themselves organised for the new norm.

3. Following the 4 square meter per person rule….

Who knew you’d be needing to dig out your Yr7 maths skills to book an event in 2020? Rather than make things confusing by updating the venue capacity tables every time the rules change, we’ve added a column to the capacity table so you can see a room’s size by square meters. Then all you need to do is the calculation. Currently in most of Australia the rule is no more than one person per 4 square meters.

Calculation required: X (room sqm) ÷ 4 = Y (new max venue capacity)

NB. Some states have different rules on a maximum number of patrons in venues, so make sure you check here to be clear on what is allowed: A Guide to Hosting Events During COVID-19 Restrictions.

4. Want even more info on how a business is adapting to COVID-19?

We’ve added the option for our clients to add a free text section to their listings called: COVID-19: Things you should know. This allows venues and suppliers to add in further details about what they have on offer and any special conditions you might need to be aware of. Example below taken from SMC Conference & Function Centre.

5. More filters that are relevant to booking events now….

Let’s face it, what you were looking for in a venue or caterer last year is a little different to what you are after in 2020…

To help you find the venues and suppliers that have what you need now we’ve added a couple of extra filters to the directory.

Take a look at the following searches:

Venues with Booth Seating

Venues with Delivery Service [catering]

Venues with Video Production Room Available

Venues with Outdoor Space

Venues with Private Dining Rooms

Caterers with Delivery Only Service

Happy planning!
